Colorful Resonances

Speakers cast in concrete transmit composed noises and sounds to various materials, whereby the sources of the sound themselves are not audible, but the resulting resonances from the material and its form, creating the actual sounds. Their perceptibility is influenced by the very different sounding objects. According to this principle, volume as well as timbre and pitch can be the variables of a sound.

Optically, the latent possibility of exchange is staged entirely in the sense of an experimental set-up. The speakers are cast in exactly the same concrete cylinders in order to prevent their direct audibility. Since these are technically and optically functioning as source of sound and base, they underline the temporary nature of the selection and offered, straight sounding objects.

In a walk-in row or field arrangement, the rapidly occurring acoustic changes can also be best perceived. My idea is to create a kind of dialogue between the objects with short impulses that jump quickly from object to object.
